Newly introduced. This podi stirs nostalgic memories of childhood for many people. Usually made only in villages where tamarind trees are seen in the village square or the woods in the outskirts. Tender leaves of the tamarind tree have tangy taste. They are sun dried and salt and red chili powder and some spices. Mix it in rice with ghee or sprinkle on salads or just add some ghee or oil and use it as side dip for Idlee, Dosa, Vada, UthappaM.
